The Best Of Everything

A BIG Lotto win was lavished on this Black Hill house set on a glorious acreage with views to rolling hills.

Built in 1984, the residence was bought by the present owners, retirees Bill and Elaine Lilly, about five years ago and they have maintained it in immaculate condition both inside and out.

Mr Lilly said the Morton family's Lotto win meant the combined 512sq metre house and garage areas had the best of everything.

As well as top craftsmanship and fittings throughout there are luxury inclusions such as a gym, sauna and spa bath, a solar heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ducted reverse cycle air-conditioning and a ducted vacuum system.

There are three big bedrooms (the gym could easily be used as a fourth) and three bathrooms.

The white brick Spanish-style house exterior, once the height of fashion, may not appeal to everyone today. But the interior of the sprawling single-level residence is gracious, spacious and in a dateless style which gives it an enduring appeal.

It is also set on a beautifully landscaped and fenced 12,823sq metre block of land with four-car garaging and workshop as well as a large area of hardstanding.

In a street of quality mansions set on similarly sized acreages, it offers a peaceful lifestyle handy to fast road links to Sydney, Maitland and Newcastle which is only about 20 minutes away.

Three sides of the house are built around the covered pool and spa, which gives all the main living areas views of the pool and the grounds.

Chandeliers and figured pinky-beige pure wool carpet flow through the formal areas and bedrooms with tiling for the casual rooms.

Off the entry passageway is a vast sunken lounge room with an open-plan formal dining area to one side.

The kitchen features timber cupboards, a roomy walk-in pantry, stainless steel double sink and top-of-the-range appliances, including a gas cook top.

A huge family room with a lofty timber ceiling and a wet bar opens out to the swimming pool area.

The main bedroom has a walk-in robe and an ensuite. Of the two other bathrooms, one is large and family sized and the third is off the gym area, conveniently positioned for pool users before entering the carpeted section of the house.

Like everything else in this house, the laundry is big and convenient and it leads out to the level grounds that include a fountain in the front and a large pond and footbridge at the rear.
